SUGAR the new Apple TV+ mystery series starring Colin Farrell, understands the moody appeal of the City of Angels. The Southern Californian setting was one of the primary factors that attracted the BANSHEES OF INISHERIN star to the series. Farrell thinks L.A. is the perfect setting for a character like Sugar to explore, since he describes the detective as “a keen observer of human behavior.” “There’s nowhere really more fascinating in so many different ways in the world than this city,” Farrell notes. “It’s so kaleidoscopic.” SUGAR premieres Friday, April 5, on Apple TV+.

THE BIG DOOR PRIZE Season Two

Walsh’s 2020 novel and starring Chris O’Dowd, THE BIG DOOR PRIZE tells the story of a small American town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential. Season two follows the residents of Deerfield as the machine readies them for the mysterious “next stage.” As everyone’s potentials are exchanged for visions, new relationships form and new questions are asked, as the small town is once again left questioning what they thought they knew about their lives, relationships, potentials, and about the Morpho itself. THE BIG DOOR PRIZE Season Two premieres on Apple TV+ on April 24.

Nicola Coughlan in BIG MOOD

DERRY GIRLS and BRIDGERTON star Nicola Coughlan is excellent alongside IT’S A SIN‘s Lydia West in her new sitcom about two millennial best friends. Coughlan plays Maggie with big bombastic take-all-the-energy-in-the-room aplomb while West takes on the classic role of “bestie who has a place of work and doesn’t mind their friend always visiting them there”. But their 10-year friendship is sorely tested when Maggie’s bipolar disorder makes an unwelcome return, pitching her from manic highs to deep lows. BIG MOOD, drops this week (10pm, 28 March, Channel 4).

SUGAR Star Colin Farrell returns to Gotham City as Oz Cobb, aka Oswald Cobblepot, in the trailer for THE PENGUIN a spinoff series of THE BATMAN coming this fall to Max. “The Penguin” takes place immediately following the events of DC’s 2022 blockbuster, tracing Cobblepot’s rise to power in the Gotham underworld as he becomes one of the most prominent villains in the “Batman” universe. Farrell gives a classic gangster monologue throughout the trailer, which slowly ramps up the violence and gunfights in Gotham City’s seedy underground.

THE TOURIST S2 now on Prime

Shot exclusively in Ireland, the second season finds Elliot (Dornan) and Helen (Danielle Macdonald) hoping to unravel the mysteries surrounding Elliot’s identity. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when confronted with the dangerous aftermath of Elliot’s past. Dornan has been recently been announced as the lead actor in the upcoming Netflix crime drama THE UNDERTOW, where he’ll be the latest major star to take on the challenge of playing identical twins.

Omagh’s own Sam Neill can now be seen alongside Annette Bening in APPLES NEVER FALL, now streaming on Apple TV+. The Northern Ireland actor, best known for his roles in iconic films such as JURASSIC PARK and THE PIANO, plays the part of Star Delaney. The show focuses on the Delaney family, presided over by accomplished tennis coaches Stan (Neill) and his wife Joy (Bening), whose tutelage of young players included some of their four children, played by Alison Brie, Jake Lacy, Conor Merrigan-Turner, and Essie Randles.
