Created by Lauren LeFranc (MARVEL, AGENTS OF SHIELD), the plot of the series HBO Max It will serve as a bridge between The Batman and the future sequel it is preparing Matt Reeves con Robert Pattinson. Little is known about the project, which is described as “the next chapter in the Batman saga” that will take “the Gotham mythos to even greater heights before the Bat works again.”

Channel 4’s international smash-hit comedy show DERRY GIRLS, has won the best International Emmy for Best Comedy. The hit comedy show was written and created by Derry woman Lisa McGee and starred Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn. It was awarded the honour alongside Indian comedian Vir Das’ fourth stand-up special for Netflix, VIR DAS: LANDING.

Irish actor Andrew Scott was among the GQ cover stars honoured at the glitzy annual Men of the Year ceremony in London’s Royal Opera House. Scott will next be seen on cinema screens opposite fellow Irish actor Paul Mescal in ALL OF US STRANGERS, opening on Friday 26 January 2024. During the GQ ceremony, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who starred alongside Scott in the hit TV series FLEABAG, and Gatwa’s SEX EDUCATION co-star Jodie Turner-Smith were among those who gave a toast to the cover stars.

The first look at DERRY GIRLS actress Nicola Coughlan on the set of the upcoming season of DOCTOR WHO has been released. Known for her breakout roles in DERRY GIRLS and BRIDGERTON, Coughlan will be guest starring alongside SEX EDUCATION star Ncuti Gatwa’s DOCTOR WHO. The show’s 15th series will also introduce CORONATION STREET‘s Millie Gibson as the Doctor’s companion, Ruby Sunday. Gatwa’s Doctor is set to debut on Christmas Day this year, with an episode entitled THE CHURCH ON RUBY ROAD.

Irish actress Aisling Bea has joined the cast of comedian Romesh Ranganathan’s BBC One comedy AVOIDANCE, as filming starts on the second series. The comedian is one of several familiar comedy names joining the sitcom, also including Colin Hoult, Michael Spicer, Louise Ford (who plays Kate in THE WINDSORS) and Brona C Titley from Stephen Merchant’s THE OUTLAWS. No broadcast date has yet been announced for the six new half-hour episodes.

Irish crime drama KIN to BBC

KIN

Irish crime drama KIN is set to air on BBC One in Britain after the star-studded series wowed viewers in Ireland. The show, which stars GAME OF THRONES actors Ciarán Hinds and Aidan Gillen, won rave reviews after debuting on RTÉ One in September 2021. It would go on to scoop six gongs at the 2022 Irish Film & Television Academy Awards, including Best Drama and Best Drama Script for creator Peter McKenna.
