As movie synopsis go, this one is a bit wacky. Everyone’s favourite Irish dad, Colm Meaney, returns to the big screen in NO WAY UP. The film surrounds a group of people involved in a plane crash, where they find themselves trapped at the bottom of the ocean in an air pocket – cue the sharks! Now that you’ve probably dropped everything you’re doing and watched the trailer in full, you’re no doubt just as excited as we are to watch THE SNAPPER and STAR TREK star fight off a bunch of bloodthirsty sharks at the bottom of the ocean. NO WAY UP will crash into US theatres and VOD platforms on February 16.

Liam Neeson in THE ICE ROAD 2

STAR WARS legend Liam Neeson is bound for Australia to film the sequel to 2021 Netflix feature THE ICE ROAD. The sequel follows Neeson’s character as he travels to Nepal to scatter the ashes of his brother on Mount Everest. The news was confirmed on social media by the small town of Walhalla in Victori, population 20. Walhalla is located in the Gippsland region, about 185km east of Melbourne. Filming will take place over three weeks next month in the rural settlement.

Meaney wraps NO WAY UP

Principal photography has wrapped on the female-driven survival thriller NO WAY UP, with Colm Meaney taking over the role originally to have been played by Kelsey Grammer, who departed the production due to scheduling conflicts. In the film from director Claudio Fäh (Northmen – A Viking Saga), an airliner crashes into the Pacific Ocean and comes to rest perilously close to the edge of a deep ravine, leaving the surviving passengers and crew trapped in an air pocket. With their air supply rapidly running out, a nightmare fight for survival ensues as dangers from all sides hone-in on them.
