The SMALL THINGS LIKE THESE World Premiere will take place at the 74th Berlinale, unspooling in the German capital from 15-25 February. The title, taking part in the festival’s main competition, stars Cillian Murphy, Ciaran Hinds, Michelle Fairley and Emily Watson in the leading roles. The Irish-Belgian co-production was penned by Enda Walsh and is based on the book of the same name by Claire Keegan (the writer of FOSTER, adapted into the Academy Award-nominated feature THE QUIET GIRL .

Cillian Murphy has nothing but love for his wife — and he wasn’t afraid to show it as he won big at the 2024 Golden Globes. The star won best actor in a motion picture, drama, for his role in OPPENHEIMER. lthough in the past the Irish actor has earned praise and accolades — including another Golden Globe nod, in 2006 for the film Breakfast on Pluto — Murphy’s critical acclaim has hit a peak with with this role. He shares Globe recognition this year with Christopher Nolan for both writing and directing, plus costars Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt.

Murphy to receive OPPENHEIMER award

The Palm Springs International Film Awards announced on Friday that Cillian Murphy will receive the 2023 Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor, for his role in Christopher Nolan’s OPPENHEIMER. Murphy, the Irish actor, portrayed American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the so-called father of the atomic bomb, in Nolan’s epic biography, which has grossed nearly a billion dollars worldwide. The Film Awards will take place on January 4, 2024, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with the festival running through January 15, 2024.

Christopher Nolan’s OPPENHEIMER has overtaken BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY as the highest ever grossing biopic. The film starring Cillian Murphy as the father of the atomic bomb, Robert J. Oppenheimer, has now grossed $912.7 million across the globe. It is also Nolan’s third highest grossing film, after THE DARK KNIGHT and THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

PEAKY BLINDERS movie update

On the show’s 10-year anniversary, PEAKY BLINDERS creator, Steven Knight, has confirmed the story “is not yet over”. It hardly seems believable that it’s 10 years since Tommy Shelby first rode that black horse through the streets of Birmingham. The message was shared to the official Peaky Blinders Instagram page, which added: “Huge thanks to our incredible fans for the past ten years. Here’s to the next ten…” Following the show’s season six finale last year, Knight revealed plans to make a film that would serve as the seventh and final chapter.
