PEAKY BLINDERS film in the works

The creator of BBC drama PEAKY BLINDERS, Steven Knight, has confirmed there will be a spin-off film featuring familiar faces and new cast members. The Bafta-nominated show, starring Cillian Murphy, ran for six series from 2013 to 2022. “I can tell you that there’s going to be a film, a feature film,” he told Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman. When asked if the film was definitely confirmed, Birmingham-born Knight replied: “Yep, by me, right now.”

Irish actor Cillian Murphy has said it was “very strange” to film the final series of PEAKY BLINDERS without Helen McCrory, as he remembered his “brave” and “magnificent” former co-star. Murphy, who plays protagonist Tommy Shelby in the hit series, said in an interview with Esquire on Tuesday that McCrory was the “beating heart” of the show.
