DERRY GIRLS returns April 12

Channel 4 has confirmed that DERRY GIRLS season 3 will return April 12th, reuniting us with the whole gang for the third and final time. Erin, Clare, Orla, Michelle and the ‘wee English fella’ James will all return in the 1990s-set Northern Irish comedy, following a DERRY GIRLS season 3 trailer showing the girls and James all enjoying their final school days.

The DERRY GIRLS Season 3 trailer has been released! Created and written by Lisa McGee, the show follows a group of Northern Irish teens and their families in 1990s Derry, who always find ways to amuse themselves and get on with their lives despite a divided political atmosphere. In series three, there’s hope in the air that The Troubles may finally be over, but the group’s troubles are only just getting started as they get ever closer to adulthood.

The DERRY GIRLS star shares on her passion for mime, getting fashion inspiration from Debbie Harry, and the podcast that helped her embrace her love of Anne Rice. The Irish actor and presenter Siobhán McSweeney, 42, earned a science degree from the University College Cork before moving to London to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama. DERRY GIRLS star Nicola Coughlan has described the intensity of fame as akin to “being a dog on the Tube”. Coughlan received rave reviews for her role as Penelope Featherington in BRIDGERTON, a character who is later revealed to be mysterious gossip writer Lady Whistledown. The second series of the show, which will air on March 25, will move towards the romantic interests of Daphne’s brother Anthony Bridgerton, who is portrayed by Jonathan Bailey.

Dylan Moran in STUCK

Filming has begun in South Belfast on a new BBC comedy series starring Dylan Moran. The series, titled STUCK, was written by Moran and stars the Irish actor alongside Morgana Robinson. It is coming to BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this year. Made by Hat Trick Productions, the series is described as a “sometimes surreal sitcom about the relationship between Dan and Carla, who are played by the two main actors.

DEADLY CUTS now on Netflix

 

Released in Irish cinemas in October, this dark Irish comedy scored 91% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with writer/director Rachel Carey winning the Discovery Award at the Dublin International Film Festival. More DERRY GIRLS on the way

Irish actress Jamie Lee O’Donnell has shared an adorable snap with her DERRY GIRLS co-star Saoirse-Monica Jackson as she said they will be back on screens “very soon”. It was revealed earlier this year that there would be another season of the hit Channel 4 show and it would also be the final.
