Mullingar actor Niamh Algar will star in PLAYING NICE, an adaptation of the best-selling novel by JP Delaney. Set against a sweeping Cornish landscape, two couples discover that their toddlers were switched at birth in a hospital mix-up, and face a horrifying dilemma: do they keep the sons they have raised and loved, or reclaim their biological child? Irish actress Niamh Algar is set to star in darkly funny crime series CULPRITS. Niamh, from Mullingar, Co Westmeath, plays Psycho in the Disney+ series. The eight-part show will premiere on Disney+ this autumn. CULPRITS kicks off where most crime stories end – after a high-stakes heist. The crew of elite criminals have gone their separate ways and have tried to leave their old lives behind but their past and present collide when a ruthless assassin starts targeting them one by one.

RAISED BY WOLVES actress Niamh Algar leads the cast of MALPRACTICE as battle-hardened doctor Lucinda Edwards, who finds herself at the centre of an investigation after a nightmare shift ends with an opioid overdose for Edith Owusu. Niamh Algar said she was “thrilled” to be leading the ITV medical thriller. “I was blown away by Grace Ofori-Attah’s script and the team attached in creating MALPRACTICE,” said Algar. “I’m a huge fan of Phil Barantini’s work, his movie Boiling Point is an astonishing piece of work and I’m so excited to see how he approaches Malpractice. “I’m absolutely over the moon that we are working together on this special series.”

ITV has released the first image of Niamh Algar in medical thriller MALPRACTICE, where she plays a doctor suspected of wrongdoing following the death of a patient. The series comes from the mind of former NHS doctor Grace Ofori-Attah, whose earlier television work includes Idris Elba sitcom In the Long Run, while directing duties are being handled by BAFTA nominee Philip Barantini (THE RESPONDER). The five-part drama follows Dr Lucinda Edwards (Algar) as she is investigated following the death of an opioid overdose victim named Edith Owusu (Sherelle Armstrong).
