Line of Duty producer World Productions has announced plans for a medical drama starring Irish actress Niamh Algar. MALPRACTICE will be directed by Boiling Point’s Philip Barantini and written by former doctor Grace Ofori-Attah. The five-part ITV series will follow Dr Lucinda Edwards on a nightmare shift that ends in the death of an opioid overdose victim, Edith Owusu.
IFTA winning actor Niamh Algar, star of RAISED BY WOLVES and CALM WITH HORSES, has been cast in a new Disney+ series CULPRITS. Having worked on big budget projects with Ridley Scott and Guy Ritchie, Niamh Algar recently went back to her indie roots with Censor, a whip-smart horror film that went down well with cinephiles. Algar was nominated as one of BAFTA’s 20 Breakthrough Brits back in 2019, and was cast in a rake of brilliant offerings afterwards.
