The Cillian Murphy-starring film about the ‘father of the atomic bomb’ has the story with the ‘highest stakes’ for a movie since it deals with the ‘survival of the world.’ Christopher Nolan calls his upcoming OPPENHEIMER film the ultimate blockbuster as it deals with the “survival of the world.” The 52-year-old THE DARK KNIGHT director’s upcoming movie stars Cillian Murphy, 47, as “father of the atomic bomb” J. Robert Oppenheimer, and the filmmaker said he has ever dealt with more important story.

Universal has revealed the second full trailer for Christopher Nolan’s OPPENHEIMER, opening in theaters worldwide this July. Oppenheimer tells the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atomic bomb, working at the Los Alamos Laboratory on the Manhattan Project in the 1940s. The cast features Cillian Murphy, with Emily Blunt as “Kitty” Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Leslie Groves, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss and Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock.

Cillian Murphy takes centre stage in the new OPPENHEIMER trailer, released Dec 18. The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the Manhattan Project mastermind who helped develop the atomic bomb. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin, the film also features Emily Blunt as Oppenheimer’s wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer.

Cillian Murphy will play the father of the hydrogen bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer. A man who, despite inventing the deadly weapon, wanted to place International controls on his dangerous invention, post-Hiroshima. Director Christopher Nolan is currently in post on the film. Filming had started on February 21 and ended on May 22 with a cast that includes Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh. Rami Malek and Robert Downey Jr.
