On the show’s 10-year anniversary, PEAKY BLINDERS creator, Steven Knight, has confirmed the story “is not yet over”. It hardly seems believable that it’s 10 years since Tommy Shelby first rode that black horse through the streets of Birmingham. The message was shared to the official Peaky Blinders Instagram page, which added: “Huge thanks to our incredible fans for the past ten years. Here’s to the next ten…” Following the show’s season six finale last year, Knight revealed plans to make a film that would serve as the seventh and final chapter.

PEAKY BLINDERS film in the works

The creator of BBC drama PEAKY BLINDERS, Steven Knight, has confirmed there will be a spin-off film featuring familiar faces and new cast members. The Bafta-nominated show, starring Cillian Murphy, ran for six series from 2013 to 2022. “I can tell you that there’s going to be a film, a feature film,” he told Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Zoe Hardman. When asked if the film was definitely confirmed, Birmingham-born Knight replied: “Yep, by me, right now.”

After COVID-related production delays and the death of lead actress Helen McCrory, Peaky creator Steven Knight has said series 6 will be its last, with the action moving to feature-length film territory and perhaps even spinoffs. For now, Tommy Shelby is trying to keep it all together as the end of Prohibition brings new opportunity and the chance for more catastrophe.

PEAKY BLINDERS S6 Release Date

It’s been a long, long wait, but it looks like the PEAKY BLINDERS season six release date has finally been revealed. BBC One has set the premiere date for the sixth and final season of the series with the award-winning period gangster saga set to return on February 27 at 9pm in the UK. The date was made official this week in Birmingham, home to the fictional Shelby clan, via a 42-foot high mural looming over Digbeth’s Old Crown.

Cillian Murphy remembers Helen McCrory

Irish actor Cillian Murphy has said it was “very strange” to film the final series of PEAKY BLINDERS without Helen McCrory, as he remembered his “brave” and “magnificent” former co-star. Murphy, who plays protagonist Tommy Shelby in the hit series, said in an interview with Esquire on Tuesday that McCrory was the “beating heart” of the show. A release date for the final season has not been confirmed but the series is expected to air later this month on Netflix.

PEAKY BLINDERS Season 6 trailer

PEAKY BINDERS fans rejoice! The BBC dropped the trailer for the highly anticipated sixth (and final) season of its award-winning 1920s crime drama on New Year’s Day. The drama-ridden trailer, which features the haunting voiceover of Murphy saying, “This will be the end of it,” is filled with gunshots, fist fights, and fire. It also highlights the return of Oswald Mosley (Sam Clafin), Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson), Ada Shelby (Sophie Rundle) and Gina Gray (Anya Taylor-Joy).
