Irish acting legend Pierce Brosnan has joined a cast of supreme acting talent in the film adaptation of Richard Osman’s THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB. Netflix released an image of author Richard Osman with director on set with Brosnan, Helen Mirren, Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie in character as Elizabeth, Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce, respectively. As of August 2024, there is no official release date for the movie, however, we do know that Netflix will now be releasing the movie. Osman has also confirmed that the film will get a cinema release too, before its streaming debut.

Brosnan joins BLACK BAG cast

Director Steven Soderbergh is assembling quite the cast for his upcoming spy thriller, BLACK BAG, with Pierce Brosnan joining fellow Irish actor Michael Fassbender on the project. Plot details are being kept under wraps but the cast, which also includes includes Cate Blanchett, will begin shooting in in May in London. Brosnan’s career is red hot at the moment and is rightfully nominated for an upcoming IFTA award for this performance in THE LAST RIFLEMAN.

The Oscar Wilde Awards were hosted March 7 to honor the Irish in entertainment, with special honors going to Pierce Brosnan, Molly Shannon, and Richie Baneham. The event kicked off when Cillian Murphy, Oscar-nominated for OPPENHEIMER, popped by on his way to the Academy’s dinner for Best Actor nominees. Brosnan, an actor, film producer, philanthropist, artist and two-time Golden Globe Award nominee was honoured for his “rich and extensive career in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes as a producer.”

Details are emerging about a brand-new documentary, entitled QUINTESSENTIALLY IRISH. The film celebrates what it is to be Irish with celebrities and politicians offering their take on the Emerald Isle. It explores some of Ireland’s most beautiful sights and famous exports, including the origins of whiskey, Guinness, horseracing, Gaelic sports and Ireland’s oldest inhabited castle at Dunsany. Interviewees include Navan-born Pierce Brosnan, Bob Geldof, Andrew Scott, Sharon Horgan, Oscar winner Jeremy Irons, and Prince Albert II of Monaco, discussing the Irish heritage of his mother, the Oscar winning actress Grace Kelly.
